Circle of the Foundation Members BenefitsThis page describes the benefits available to Circle of the Foundation Members for the 2021-22 membership year (through October 31, 2022). Depending upon your membership, you may receive some or all of these benefits. For a quick summary and comparison of all membership benefits see the Select Your Membership page. All Circle of the Foundation Members receive the Shamanism Annual, the Foundation's scholarly journal; a listing in the journal's Voluntary Circle of the Foundation Telephone Directory; the FSS E-News; access to the online FSS Members Circle with exclusive audio, video, articles, and photos; a listing in the Shamanic Services directory on shamanism.org for qualifying members; free attendance at two live interactive video conferences/webinars; a 10% discount on the FSS web store items (online); and $10, $15, and $20 tuition discounts on 7-hour, 10.5-hour, and 14-hour ONLINE workshops, respectively. These benefits are described below. Depending on your membership, you may also qualify for the additional benefits of a Community/Member Bio and tuition discounts on FSS workshops, also described below.
The Shamanism Annual
The Shamanism Annual is the Foundation's scholarly journal. It contains articles about shamanism and shamanic consciousness worldwide, and other valuable information not accessible through the E-News or the website. The Shamanism Annual also includes news about Foundation activities and the Voluntary Members Telephone Directory. (Inclusion in the Directory is optional. You'll be given the option to be included or not when you join.) If you choose to be listed, your listing will appear in the 2022 Directory if you join the Circle by November 7, 2022; otherwise, your listing will appear in the 2023 Directory. FSS E-NewsThe E-News is sent by email 2-3 times a year and includes Foundation news, course announcements, shamanic healing tips, news about shamanism worldwide, articles...and more. View archive of previous issues. FSS Members CircleThe FSS Circle is the area on our website exclusively for members of the Circle of the Foundation. Through the FSS Circle, you can access exclusive content from the FSS archives, including streaming audio and video, photos, and articles. Additional Circle content is added periodically. Login to the Circle and use the "My FSS" feature to update contact information, edit a listing in the print Circle of the Foundation Directory, and add or edit an online Shamanic Services Listing or Member Bio. Shamanic Services ListingsShare information about your shamanic practice with our website visitors. A listing in the Shamanic Services directory on shamanism.org includes your name, location, a 30-word description about your practice written by you, a photo or graphic, your website address, and an email contact form. To protect your privacy the email contact form does not disclose your email address to website visitors. Listings are optional and you can manage your listing through the members-only area of our website (instructions will be emailed to you after processing your membership). 10% Discount on FSS Shamanic Store ItemsWhen you join the Circle or renew your membership, you will receive a coupon code for a 10% discount when you order items from the FSS online shamanic store, good for your membership term. To receive the discount, when you order items from the FSS store, enter your coupon code during the checkout process on shamanism.org. If you forget your coupon code, you can view it by logging in to your FSS Circle account on shamanism.org. Tuition discounts for ONLINE workshopsWhen you join the Circle or renew your membership, you will receive a coupon code, which can be used for discounts on FSS store items (ordered online on shamanism.org). This coupon code can also be used for $10, $15, and $20 tuition discounts on 7-hour, 10.5-hour, and 14-hour ONLINE workshops, respectively. The discount is good for workshops taking place during your membership term. To receive the online workshop discount, when you register for an online workshop with an FSS faculty member, enter your coupon code during the workshop registration process using the faculty member's registration form (not processed on shamanism.org). The faculty member will process the discount. If you forget your coupon code, you can view it by logging in to your FSS Circle account on shamanism.org. FSS Member Artwork SlideshowAs a member, you are eligible to submit your shamanically-related artwork/photos for consideration for display online in the Artwork of the Members of the Circle of the Foundation slideshow. Email your artwork/photos to info@shamanism.org. If your photo is selected, you will be notified and it will be uploaded to the slideshow. Guidelines for submission:
Interactive live video-webinar-conferencesFor Circle Members, free interactive live video-webinar-conferences (two per year) — led by Susan Mokelke, with FSS faculty members and special guests. An additional interactive live video-webinar-conference with Sandra Harner or other special guest will be held for Sponsoring and Council members. Community/Member Bios for Sponsoring and Council MembersThe public online Community/Members Bio provides a way for you to network with others in the Circle of the Foundation, as well as letting the public know about you, your interests, experience, and practice. All bios include up to 150 words about you, a photo or graphic, and an email contact form. To protect your privacy the contact link does not disclose your email address. Weekend (in-person) Workshop Discounts for Sponsoring and Council MembersSponsoring and Council Members receive a 10% tuition discount on two FSS weekend (two-day, in-person) workshops in the USA and Canada for this membership year. (Discount must be used within one year of the start date of your membership. For example, if you renew or join October 1, you will have until October 1 of the following year to use the discount. Note: Timing may be adjusted during the pandemic while in-person workshops are postponed.) More about discounts. Weekend (in-person) Workshop "Invite a Friend" Tuition Discounts for all Circle MembersSubstantial tuition discounts are available to attend in-person advanced weekend workshops for Circle Members who introduce friends to the Basic Workshop: The Way of the Shaman®. More about discounts. Two Week Shamanic Healing Intensive Discount for Council MembersCouncil Members receive a 10% tuition discount for the Two Week Shamanic Healing Intensive. (Discount must be used within one year of the start date of your membership. For example, if you renew or join October 1, you will have until October 1 of the following year to use the discount. Note: Timing may be adjusted during the pandemic while in-person workshops are postponed.) More about discounts. Annual Gathering of the CouncilCouncil Members are invited to the annual Gathering of the Council led by Susan Mokelke, with Sandra Harner and special guests. The gathering is typically held the last Saturday in January, either in person or as a live interactive video conference.
